At present Chris is: Director of Acting Programmes Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Before joining Conti he was: Programme Director Graduate Diploma in Acting and Head of Acting BA (Hons) Birmingham School of Acting

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting on productions of Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST and Edward Bond’s BINGO at The Young Vic
• Casting both productions
• Re – directing both productions for The Swan Theatre Stratford
• Re – staging and maintenance of both productions for national and international tour

Leading Education Programme

1988 to 1995 Associate Director, The Young Vic

Responsibilities include:

• Directing professional work in the main house and studio with specific brief of widening access (young people) and directing new writing
• Commissioning new work
• Member of senior management team contributing to the artistic policy of the company, fundraising and re-shaping corporate identity
• Overseeing education and outreach policy (youth theatre, community projects, young writing group, education workshops attached to main house productions)
