Five places are offered as scholarships for Summer School at an all-inclusive fee of around 40% of the standard fee. Accommodation is shared in a multi-bed room.

Anyone interested in applying for a scholarship – there is no age limit – is asked to set out in a letter/email why they wish to attend, what they hope to achieve and why they believe they may merit the concessional rate.

A letter/email of recommendation from someone who knows the candidate well and can vouch for their interest in theatre - for instance, a theatre club or teacher - is also needed. Both letters are to be sent to the applications coordinator for selection by the Course Director and Organisers. Their decision is final. Applications are awarded in order of receipt.

Applicants who have already been awarded a scholarship in previous years need not provide a letter of recommendation. Depending on the number of candidates for a particular year, their application may not be awarded in order of receipt.

There is one LEATSS scholarship available for a Masterclass, the same conditions apply as for Summer School.

In many cases, theatre groups will provide funding for attendance at theatre related courses like LEATSS. In Luxembourg there are:

• Pirate Productions funds one of its members each year the equivalent of the full basic cost of the LEATSS course. It is called the Jane Carter Award.
• The New World Theatre Club offers a similar scholarship called the Richard Chappell Award
